How ClinicMaster Works

When a new patient goes to the hospital, their information is registered and a unique identifier acquired.

Through the unique identifier, subsequent visits are registered and tracked.

For every registered visit, a doctor is alerted and can see who is waiting to receive treatment.

The doctor calls in the patient in the consultation room.

All doctor’s notes, requests, diagnosis and prescriptions are entered into the system.

The software enables on-line requests across all services points in the hospital like laboratory, radiology, dental etc.

All service points are accordingly alerted of the pending request in the queue, for example, laboratory will get an automatic alert when a request is made and in turn the doctor will receive an online alert when laboratory results are uploaded thus enabling them eect prescriptions and/or any other service.

Makerere University Walter Reed Project started piloting the Clinic Master patient monitor- ing system in January 2011 at the Kayunga District Hospital HIV clinic. The system was custom- ized to use the existing Ministry of Health HMIS tools. The clinic master has proven very useful in the monitoring of patient visit and appointments, current medical conditions and medical history, ARV and Opportunistic Infection drug prescriptions and inventory, and all laboratory investigations. The system has also greatly simplified the creation of the M.O.H quarterly HIV report as it produces this report on a click of a button

ClinicMaster is a user friendly management system and as a hospital administrator it is easy to monitor selected metrics on a weekly basis; it’s easily customisable to generate adhoc reports. we use the system to monitor pharmacy and consumables inventory,accounts receivable wheth- er cash or insurance, among others.
